Install the desktop app for your computer first. It runs in the background while you use the Grabbit Chrome extension on YouTube.

Setup required: set the per-OS variables NEXT_PUBLIC_DESKTOP_DOWNLOAD_MAC_URL, NEXT_PUBLIC_DESKTOP_DOWNLOAD_WIN_URL, and NEXT_PUBLIC_DESKTOP_DOWNLOAD_LINUX_URL in .env so each button points to your installer files.

  1. Download and install the Grabbit desktop app for your system.
  2. Add the Grabbit extension from the Chrome Web Store when it is available.
  3. Open a YouTube video in Chrome, click the Grabbit icon, and start a download.
